About the role
We are taking a small number of interns onto our delivery team for three months. You will be assigned real work on real systems, with a senior engineer reviewing everything you ship. The intent is simple: by the end of it you should have production code in your name, a reference from someone who watched you write it, and a clear read on whether this is the kind of work you want to do. We keep the intake small because every intern gets a named mentor, and we only take on as many as we can properly supervise.
What you'll do
- Build and ship features across the stack on live client projects, under code review
- Write and maintain tests for the code you ship
- Take a ticket from clarification through to deployment, asking questions early rather than guessing
- Take part in sprint ceremonies — standups, planning, and retrospectives
- Debug issues in existing systems and write up what you found
- Use AI-assisted tooling (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) as part of a normal workflow, with judgement about when not to
What we're looking for
- Final-year student or graduate in engineering, CS, IT, or a related discipline
- Working knowledge of at least one backend language — C#, Java, Python, or Node.js
- Comfortable with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus one framework (React, Next.js, or Angular)
- Understands relational databases and can write SQL joins without looking them up
- Familiar with Git in a team workflow — branches, pull requests, resolving conflicts
- Able to commit around 20-25 hours per week for the full three months
- A reliable internet connection and a working development machine
- Clear written communication — most of our collaboration is asynchronous
Nice to have
- Side projects or open-source contributions we can look at
- Exposure to a cloud platform (Azure or AWS)
- Any experience with REST API design or microservices
- Curiosity about the BFSI domain — the business rules are half the job
- Hands-on use of AI coding tools in a real project, not just demos
What you get out of it
- Production code shipped to real users, with your commits in the history
- A named senior mentor who reviews your work and gives written feedback
- An internship completion certificate from DevToDesk
- A written reference from the engineer who supervised you
- First consideration when we next hire full-time — we always look internally first
- Exposure to how BFSI systems are actually built, maintained, and audited
How we hire
- 1Send your CV and anything you have built — a repo link beats a cover letter
- 2A short technical screen over a call: fundamentals, plus a walkthrough of something you built
- 3A practical task in your own time, scoped to a few hours — we do not set unpaid week-long projects
- 4A conversation with a founder about fit, expectations, and schedule
- 5Offer and start date — we onboard in small groups
